Ding Dong!
(sounds of Barry White playing in background)
Hey Sweet Cheeks! C'mon In! Dinner will be ready in a few minutes.
Meanwhile why don't we stretch out here and relax in front of the fire for a bit hmmm?
Whoah, gota kink lemme stretch a bit here.... (STREEETCH)
Ahhh, isn't this SO much more comfortable?
Hey! Wait, don't go Baby! Was it something I said?
Sigh...
Alone again. Where am I going wrong?
(Teho and/or NTMTOM you have my permission to use these and the "story" on CO or edit as desired ;-) )
UPDATE: SCROLL DOWN!!!
You know what I'm talking about: these pups here:

The tortures were just too much for me. I couldn't take it any moar so I vowed to give my dogges extra treasties (and to in-no-cently capture said treatage on teh camera).
Remmington and Renee had already gone to bed so Kassie and Zippy were the lucky recipients of my generosity.
Unfortunately they didn't know what to do with this open motherlode of bones. Sigh, so instead of torture teh pups it was torture teh human instead.
"Oh-ho!" they say, "She wants us to take a bone. In that case we won't do eet!"
Zippy treated the whole foreign situation as he does anything he doesn't know, by growling and yarping at it. Kassie just laid down and wagged her tail. Sigh.
EDIT: ghaaaa! BAD SOUND QUALITY ON VOX UPLOADED VID, SORRIES. I TRIES AGAIN. IN THE MEANTIME TRY THE YOUTUBE ONE. SORRIES GUYZ.
Edit Edit: Ok the vox one is no good but the same vid i put on youtube haz excellent sound.

After giving up I took some pics of Kassie enjoying her treat. I would have pics of Zippy but he vanished so quickly with his bone I had no chance.
Please to be enjoying the dainty treat holdinks whilst nomming, along with a squeet tongue action pic.
Seriously, you have to see this last pic at it's largest on my flikr. OMB!
UPDATE:
So good doggee Mom that I am, I felt guilty for not giving Remington and Renee their share of extra treats, and as it turns out apparantly their share of confusion as well. Although Renee, ever the trooper adjusted quickly to the help yourself method (with a wee bit o' help from me in consideration of her size, but don't tell her that she'll be quite offended if she knew).
Results are here:
I appologize for the length of time elapsing in Remington's vid, but he was just SO darn cute sitting there all at attenshun. I was trying to watch him out of the corner of my eye but make it appear I wasn't looking so he could "sneak" up on the bone bukkit but he just stayed all stock still. (shakes head) I dunno, these are the SAME dogs who will snatch food off the table, out of the grocery bags, right out of your hand if it drops too low while you're eating.
Remington once took an entire loaf of bread (very stealthy) right out of the grocery bag when we were bringing in groceries. We didn't even notice we were missing the bread until my MIL found the loaf's empty bag under her bed the next day. But bones outta the bukkitt? nope.

And here's a quickie of Renee, this one is super short and she's not in the pic for long, this lil' doggee never stands still, she is SUCH a dynamo! We've nicknamed her copt'er tail on account of her tail going in mad circles all the time. I'll endeavor to obtain a movie of that sometime. As I said out of deference to her size (shhhhh) I put the bone on the lid and let her get it herself, at first she thought I was holding it so I hadda push her to the bukkitt, but once she saw it, SUCCESS, ooops, try again, SUCCESSS!, ooops, dropped it, AHA! RUN AWAY! Note the big doggees following her, not to worry, she has a spechul bone eatin' place that none of the big guys can get into, and Zippy dares not try or he shall feel her wrath!

Hello my name is Autumn. You may have seen or met me before through my favorite (shhh don't tell her she'll get a big head) pet Metz.
I've seen you humans laughing at your owners in various stages of disgrace having just been bathed, shaven, or other humiliating poses. Tsk tsk.
Rather than ahem, Rat you out to your owners I've decided to give you an opportunity to redeem yourselves by posting these pictures of my Pet's toys those annoying dogs. Fresh from the groomers where they were put into a giant tub of water (ha-ha-ha) and washed with soap. (hahahahahahhahahahha) Then shaved! (ROFLMTO!!!!) Then and this is the best part, they put cutsie little bows on their collars. (BWHAHHAHAHHHAAHHHA) (wipes tears from eyes).
My pets made a big fuss over their appearances when they returned, especially Renee's bushy mane around her head and the puff ball on the end of her tail. Metz says Zippy looks like a distinguished gentleman with his well trimmed mustache. I say they look ridiculous but they seem to amuse my pets so I'll continue to tolerate them.
Here's some before and after photos:
First up, Zippy
Pah! Look at that unkempt fur will you? See what I mean about dogs? Can't even groom themselves properly.
I had to post this older one of Zippy in his collar because Metz couldn't get him to stand still long enough to get a decent forward before shot. That, and this pic is just freaking hysterical to me. Anyway, note the messy beard and mustache. This is pretty much what his face was like before going to the groomer's today.
Now Zippy after
Awww, ain't he precious? (SNERK, can't even do a proper Yeem glow.) Although I must admit the groomers did make him look somewhat presentable. They must have a cat on staff. Metz said she saw Bunnies and a Ferret there when she dropped them off. She promises next time to take her camera along to get some pictures of those morsels, erm I mean critters.
Now Renee on the other hand, she is almost cat like in her ability to project the Yeemage far and wide. She still leaves a lot to be desired in the way of self grooming, but of all the dogs I can tolerate her the most because she does keep the others in line and mostly off of my back.
Renee before: Watch out for those Yeems, you best put some sunscreen on.
Tsk, what a disgraceful mess!
If you enlarge the pic above you will notice the normal floofiness of her fur and tail.
Now Renee after.
A nice smooth coat as should be. Hmpf, if only they wouldn't call that mess on her head a "lion's mane", what an insult to lions!
Bwhahahhahha look at that pom pom on the end of her tail!
(GASP) OMG it is just so funny! Of course our humans are making spectacles of themselves ooing and ahing over them. (something which they will pay for later you can be assured.)
Awwww, look at teh wittle puppy wit teh cute widdle bow. (note to other cats I am being sarcastic-Autumn)
And finally the cute little couple together:
There you have it folks, dogs can be shaved too. Just keep that in mind next time you're eying your owner cat.
Autumn
Edited to add pics of Dusty: and thank you all for your kind words, comfort, congrats, and snorgles on behalf of Butterscotch. :-)
Also, must tease here: I'm gonna meet Butterscotch next weeeek! (sing song voice)
Those of you who visit http://www.cuteoverload.com/ know there is a category of Cute Or Sad right?
Well right now my life has been so full of ups and downs that it's bordering on Happy or Downright Depressing!
So what to start with? A high or a low?
Hmmm. So I'll be selfish I'll start with happy.
The same day I found out I was going to be going to visit my family in MI afterall I also found out that I have actually been officially "published" or as my dear friend Matthew said, "E-Published"
I was at work about to shut down my comp for the night when I remembered I had wanted to peek in at the
A Prairie Home Companion's Website. I had been semi-worried that the crew from this wonderful radio program had been in some way involved in that horrible bridge tragedy in the Twin Cities. I was relieved to note that Mr. Keillor took the time to assure everyone that he and his associates were as far as he knew ok. He took the time to tell us about a young woman who was shot in South Africa, stating that "Life is fragile, though, and there are plenty of reminders."
I felt a bit better, still incredibly sad and worried about the whole thing but somehow reassured. I was about to exit when as is my habit while visiting the site I scrolled down to their First Person section where they post a few stories & poems from listeners who've submitted them. |'ve been submitting stuff for a while a few short stories & poems here and there. Not ever really expecting anything but well, you never know right? So this time like all the times before I scrolled down to view that little box of hope on the right side of the main page. I hung there for a second and my hand moved the mouse up to the "X" of the explorer window when my brain finally caught up with reality and yelled "Hey! That's MY name!!!!!!" I looked, I looked again, sure enough there it was plain as day.
Mind you my ego was only slightly deflated by the fact that I had a very obvious typo in my About the Author section, but only a little. The fact that I even have a publicly viewable blurb chosen by someone not in my control or just being nice to me and that I have an opportunity to even make up an About the Author blurb at all totally makes up for it.
It was questionable whether I'd drive or fly home from work that night. I'm sure I did one of those two, I can't really remember now.
Ok now for a sad.
Today my husband and his mother took one of our 5 dogs, Dusty (my husband Rob's dog through and through) to the vet. He'd been limping and stiff in the hindquarters lately and when I was giving them baths on Sunday I'd noticed some bleeding at the anus. Also there was a huge lump of some type on his back/hip/tail base area. The vet is pretty certain it's a tumor and although he referred us to a specialist (we'll be taking him Thursday) he's pretty sure the outcome isn't that hopeful and said it's likely we'll have to have him "put down". Rob is not taking it so well. This is his buddy and friend. I'm just as upset too, he is such a sweet, mellow laid back dog. The most easy going dog I have ever had/known. Very affectionate and playful, just not a care in the world. Until now. I'll keep y'all posted on his prognosis as it develops. Just cross your fingers for us that it's not as serious as his vet fears.
Not to leave you down in the dumps here's a bit of sweet sunshine in the form of my Mom's cat Butterscotch. Whom has taken over the household as if it was destined to be hers from before birth. Blue has something to say about that but well she's learning to tolerate the little usurper.
Ok done now. Snorgle & huff away!
Sunday we went to the local park Ecology Center: (Edit: Note almost all of the animals here are either 1) being rehabilitated or 2) were rescued from injuries (or bad peeps) and are unable to return to the wild.) where they have a free zoo with my daughter, her best friend and my son. *shaking head* I don't get it. When I was a kid I spent HOURS walking around looking at animals, even ones I saw every day whenever I went to my local zoo. These kids, they just wanted to get through the zoo as quickly as possible and get to the playground.
*sigh*
Anyway, I gots some WONDERFUL pics of some of the local residents of the zoo.
And here is the special dessert.
While lunching at the peecneek tables at the park the kiddoes got all excitedable about something and my daughter whispered to me over the table, "Mommy there's a squirrel RIGHT behind you." Sure enough this little guy was munching on some goldfish crackers dropped by (I'm assuming) the table's previous tenants. I'm thrilled to share his royal highness King Redeye. (on account I ain't got photo fixing softwares here at work and can't fix his eyes sorries).
Oops missed the bestest one of all sorries.
Well I don't know about you guys but I had a busy weekend. When my mother in law is not at a craft fair on the weekends I find that suddenly there's a lot more to do.
Anyway, to end the weekend on a bright note I got an email from my Mom with some yummy new pics of Butterscotch. So refreshing after two hot & humid days.
So sweet.
Plus a cutie one of my Dad taking a cat nap with her. :-)
Enjoy.
Metz
YAY!!! Mom finally posted pics of her kitty for me to steal!
Some are a bit outta focus, man I wish I lived closer I'd be taking like a million shots of this little beauty.
Something to hold us over until the crisis is over in the cat cave (positive vibes to Theo & Jaye!)
Enjoy.
Metz
Edit: I can't seem to get photos # 3 & # 4 to show up for some reason but they are viewable in my vox photo album.
Too bad since they're tres cute!
Anyway, sorry for the mishmash still learning how to do this whole thing.
